Allan Pettersson (1911-1980) is among my favorite classical music composers because of his life story and the music he created from his experiences. He was born in the province of Uppland, but spent the rest of his life in Stockholm. Plagued with disease and an extremely violent father, his music is very reflective of his struggles.
